  • 2 lb. lean beef, cut into large cubes
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 stalk celery, sliced
  • 6 carrots
  • 6 small potatoes
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. tapioca
  • 1 c. or more tomato juice

    Layer in order.

    Sprinkle tapioca over all.

    Add tomato juice. Cover tightly and bake for 4 hours at 250°.
