Oven Style Caramel Corn

  • 2 c. light brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. white Karo syrup
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla
  • 6 to 8 quarts popped corn
  • 2 sticks (1 c.) margarine
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. soda

Directions

    Place brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup and salt in a 2-quart saucepan.

    Bring to a boil and boil 5 minutes.

    Add vanilla and soda, stirring after each addition.

    Pour syrup over popped corn and stir to cover all kernels.

    Place on 2 cookie sheets and bake in 250° oven for 45 minutes, stirring often.

    This may be stored in coffee cans or frozen in bags.
