  • 1/2 box saltines, crumbled
  • 1 1/2 to 2 pt. oysters, drained
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 large can evaporated milk
  • 1/2 can water
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c. grated carrot
  • 1/2 c. grated cheese

    Place crumbled saltine crackers in bottom of buttered casserole dish.

    Now put a layer of oysters.

    Add more crumbled saltine crackers, layer of oysters again.

    Sprinkle onion and carrots over oysters.

    Next, put crumbled saltines.

    Beat eggs. Add milk, water and pepper.

    Pour over oysters and saltines in dish.

    Sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake at 450° for 25 minutes.
