Oyster Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1 c. chopped onions
  • 1 c. cracker crumbs
  • 1 pt. cream sauce made with butter, flour and milk
  • dash of Tabasco
  • 1 qt. oysters, drained
  • red and black pepper
  • salt to taste

Directions

    Cook celery and onions in small amount of salted water until just tender.

    Place a layer of cracker crumbs in bottom of casserole.

    Start making layers of ingredients; first spoon in seasoned cream sauce, then celery and onions, dash of red and black pepper and salt to taste.

    Add some oysters.

    Repeat layers until all layers are used.

    Place crumbs on top and dot generously with butter, enough to season through the casserole. Bake at 350° about 30 to 40 minutes.

    Serve while hot.
