  • 2 1/2 c. light brown sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 Tbsp. corn syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 3/4 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Boil first five ingredients to a soft ball stage (237°), stirring constantly.

    Remove from fire.

    Add vanilla and nuts. Set pan in cold water and start beating at once.

    When mixture turns creamy and light, turn into buttered pan.
  5. 5
    Cut in squares. If it hardens too soon, knead it soft again and put in pan.
