- 6 medium onions, sliced
- 1 c diced celery
- 8 T butter or margarine, divided
- 1/4 c flour
- 1 t salt
- 1/8 t black pepper
- 1 1/2 c milk
- 1/3 grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 c chopped pecans
Directions

1Saute onions and celery until tender in a large skillet in 3 T butter; drain and set aside.

2In a saucepan, melt the remaining butter; stir in flour, salt and pepper until smooth.

3Gradually stir in milk and bring to a boil.

4Cook for 2 minutes until thickened, stirring constantly.

5Pour over vegetables and toss to coat.
