  • 1 c. chili sauce (Heinz)
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 2 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 4 to 5 lb. brisket of beef
  • 1/2 c. celery leaves
  • 2 sliced onions

Directions

    Combine chili sauce, sugar, salt, vinegar and seasoned salt. Pour over meat.

    Cover and marinate overnight in refrigerator. (Marinate meat in Pyrex glass pan.)

    Place meat in roasting pan. Pour over marinade; cover with celery leaves and onions.

    Bake at 325° for 4 to 5 hours (1 hour per pound).

    Baste often.

    Serve in strained marinade.

    This recipe may be prepared 2 days in advance or frozen.
