Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup peanut oil
  • 1/2 cup matzo meal
  • 3 squares (1 oz. each) semi-sweet baking chocolate, cut into chunks
  • 1/2 cup chopped PLANTERS Nuts (optional)
  • 5 squares (1 oz. each) semi-sweet baking chocolate
  • 1 tsp. margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. MAXWELL HOUSE Instant Coffee Walgreens $6.99 thru 02/06
  • 1 Tbsp. hot water
  • 3 Tbsp. BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream
  • 1/2 tsp. imitation vanilla

Directions

    Mix sugar and cocoa until blended.

    Stir in eggs and oil.

    Mix in matzo meal, chocolate chunks and nuts.

    Spread into greased 8-inch square baking pan.

    Bake at 350F for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out almost clean.

    (DO NOT OVERBAKE.)

    Cool in pan on wire rack.

    Meanwhile, microwave chocolate squares and margarine in microwavable bowl on HIGH 2 minutes or until margarine is melted.

    Stir until chocolate is melted; set aside.

    Dissolve coffee in water.

    Stir in sour cream and vanilla.

    Add to chocolate mixture.

    Spread glaze over cooled brownies.
