Pasta Carbonara

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. pasta (spaghetti, linguine or small shells work best)
  • 1 1/2 to 2 c. chopped ham (turkey, pepperoni or Spam may be used)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 c. cream (canned milk works well)
  • 1 scant c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 stick margarine or butter, softened to room temperature

Directions

    Beat eggs with cream until smooth.

    Cook pasta to al dente stage.

    Immediately drain well and return to hot pan.

    Add margarine and ham.

    Toss together until margarine is melted and add egg mixture and cheese.

    Toss together until well blended.

    Serve immediately.
