  • 1 large box pasta shells
  • 1 medium pkg. white Northern beans
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans beef broth
  • 2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans whole tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne
  • 1/4 tsp. hot pepper sauce (can leave out if desired)
  • 1 tsp. dried basil, crushed
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano, crushed

Directions

    Sort beans; rinse well. Cook for 10 minutes. Drain, then add 8 to 10 cups water. Bring to boil, then turn on medium heat and cook 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally. When half done, add all of the ingredients. Cook another hour until beans are done, stirring occasionally. (Cook to thickness desired.)
