Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. ditalini pasta
  • 1 or 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. tomatoes, sieved (or canned crushed)
  • 1/8 tsp. oregano
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans peas, undrained
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • grated Parmesan cheese or Romano cheese

Directions

    Heat oil in a large saucepan.

    Add onion and cook slowly until lightly browned.

    Add tomatoes, oregano, salt and pepper; simmer about 10 minutes.

    Add peas together with another 1 1/2 cans of water; simmer about 5 minutes.

    Toss this mixture with cooked pasta.

    Serve topped with grated cheese.
