- pinch of red pepper flakes
- 2 tsp. sweet butter
- 1/2 c. vodka
- 1 (28 oz.) can Italian crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 pt. heavy cream or half and half
- 5 to 10 fresh sliced basil leaves
- 3/4 c. grated fresh Parmesan or Romano cheese
- 1 lb. tubular pasta (such as rigatoni or penne)
Directions

1Saute red pepper flakes in butter for about 1 minute.

2Add vodka and bring to boil.

3Lower heat; add tomatoes and simmer ten minutes.

4Add cream and basil and simmer briefly.
