- 2 3/4 c. flour
- 1/2 lb. lard, chilled
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- dash of salt
Directions

1Place flour in bowl; cut lard into flour, using a pastry blender until mixture is the size of small peas.

2Place egg, lemon juice, baking powder and salt in a glass measuring cup.

3Add enough water to equal 1/2 cup.

4Pour liquid into flour mixture and toss lightly just to moisten.

5Divide dough in half and form into 2 balls; freeze 1 ball for future use and refrigerate 1 ball for 1/2 hour.

6Roll out dough to fit a 9-inch pie pan; trim.

7Roll out remaining dough.

8Cut for top crust.

9Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden, at 400°.
