  • 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 No. 2 can sliced peaches
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Nutmeg

Directions

    Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

    Work in shortening with pastry blender, until it reaches the consistency of cornmeal.

    Combine beaten egg and milk, and add to first mixture.

    Place peaches in greased baking dish approximately 8 X 4 inch.

    Spread dough over top.

    Sprinkle with nutmeg.

    Bake 30 minutes at 350°.
