  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. peanut butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Hershey kisses

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Sift together flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.

    Cream together shortening and peanut butter. Add sugar and brown sugar; cream well.

    Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well.

    Blend in dry ingredients.

    Shape by teaspoonful into balls.

    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375° for 8 minutes. Remove promptly.

    Place unwrapped Hershey Kiss in center of each cookie until cookie cracks.

    Return to oven for 3 minutes.
