  • 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 48 chocolate candy Kisses or stars

Directions

    Combine all ingredients except chocolates.

    Using rounded teaspoonfuls, shape into balls.

    Roll in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheets.

    Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven and top with candy Kiss, pressing down firmly so cookie cracks around edge.
