- 2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. light corn syrup
- 2 c. raw Spanish peanuts
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. soda
Directions

1Heat and stir sugar, syrup and 1 cup water in a heavy 3-quart saucepan until sugar dissolves.

2Cook over medium heat to soft ball stage (234°).

3Add nuts and 1/2 teaspoon salt.

4Cook to hard crack stage (305°), stirring often.

5Remove from heat.

6Quickly stir in butter and soda.

7Pour at once onto 2 well-buttered 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch pans, spreading with spatula.

8If desired, cool slightly and pull with forks to stretch.

9Break up when cold.

10Makes 1 1/2 pounds.
