- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. light corn syrup
- 1 c. water
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. unroasted Spanish or Virginia peanuts
- 1 tsp. butter
- 1/4 tsp. soda
Directions

1Combine sugar, corn syrup and water; cook slowly, stirring, until sugar dissolves.

2Cook to soft-ball stage (236°).

3Add peanuts and salt.

4Cook to hard-crack stage (295°).

5Stir constantly.

6Remove from heat.

7Add butter and soda; stir slightly.

8Pour evenly into well-greased shallow pans.

9Cool partially by lifting around edges with knife.

10When firm, turn. When cold, break in pieces.

11Makes 2 to 3 dozen pieces.
