Peanut Brittle

Ingredients

  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. peanuts (raw)
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. white syrup
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp. soda

Directions

    Put ingredients (except soda) in heavy saucepan.

    Cook on low heat until sugar dissolves.
  3. 3
    Cook until syrup slightly changes color and a few peanuts pop.
  4. 4
    Stir in soda and pour out on buttered pan.
  5. 5
    Put butter on fingers and when barely cool enough to touch, lift from pan and stretch out thin.
