- 2 c. raw shelled peanuts
- 1/2 c. Karo (white) syrup
- 1/2 c. water
- pinch of paraffin
- 2 heaping tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
Directions

1Bring Karo, water and sugar to boil; add paraffin and peanuts and cook until peanuts turn amber in color (or until peanuts look parched).

2Stir with wooden spoon often, while cooking in a black skillet.

3Remove from stove and fold in soda and salt (which have been mixed together and lumps mashed).

4Pour out on greased marble.

5Before it gets too cool, mark with butcher knife into pieces.

6Store in glass jars or containers.

7Do not refrigerate. Makes at least two quarts of candy.
