  • 2 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. water
  • 1 c. peanuts

Directions

    Mix together sugar and syrup.

    Cook until it starts to boil. Stir together soda, vanilla and water; set aside.

    Cook sugar and syrup to 300° by candy thermometer.

    While this is boiling, grease 2 jelly roll pans.

    Put in oven to warm lightly.

    Also put the peanuts in oven to warm.

    When candy has reached 300°, remove from stove.

    Add vanilla, soda and water.

    Stir very fast.

    Stir in nuts.

    Take pans from oven and put on racks.

    Spread candy on 2 pans.

    When cold, break into eatable pieces.
