- 2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. light corn syrup
- 1 c. water
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. butter
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 2 c. Spanish peanuts (raw)
Directions

1Combine sugar, syrup and water.

2Cook slowly, stirring until sugar dissolves.

3Wipe down sides of pan with wet cloth.

4Cook to soft ball stage (238°).

5Add peanuts and salt.

6Cook to hard-crack stage (300°), stirring constantly.

7Remove from heat.
-
8Add butter and soda.
-
9Stir and pour into buttered pan.
-
10Lift around edges as it cools, stretching candy.
-
11Turn over when firm.
-
12Make it thin. Cool.
-
13Break into pieces.
