Peanut Brittle

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. white corn syrup
  • 1/4 stick butter (margarine)
  • 1-inch paraffin canning wax
  • 2 c. Spanish peanuts
  • pinch of salt (optional)

Directions

    Combine sugar, corn syrup, butter and paraffin; bring to a boil.

    Add peanuts and cook on medium heat until golden brown (or approximately 20 minutes). Stir well.

    Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon soda.

    Stir well and spread on aluminum foil while foaming.

    Let cool thoroughly.

    Break up and store in airtight container.
