Pear Conserve

Ingredients

  • 6 or 8 ripe pears
  • 1 large orange, juiced
  • 1 (13 oz.) can crushed pineapple
  • 1 pkg. pectin
  • 5 c. sugar
  • 2 (3 oz.) maraschino cherries (optional)

Directions

    Mash pears after peeling and coring.

    Add juice of orange and 1/2 of orange peel, grated (optional), also pineapple.

    Add pectin to 4 cups of this mixture.

    Mix well.

    Add the sugar and stir well. Cook until it clings to fork.

    The maraschino cherries are optional, too.

    Cut up and add to cooked mixture.
