  • 1/2 peck firm pears, chopped
  • 2 unpeeled oranges, thinly sliced
  • 1 (15 oz.) can crushed pineapple
  • sugar
  • 3 small bottles maraschino cherries

    Combine pears, oranges and pineapple in bowl.

    Weigh fruit. Add sugar equal to 2/3 of the weight of fruit.

    Mix well.

    Let stand overnight.

    Combine with cherries in saucepan.

    Cook until pears are tender.

    Spoon into hot sterilized 1-pint jars.

    Seal with 2-piece lids.

    Process in hot water bath for 30 minutes.

    Cool upside-down for 5 minutes.
