Ingredients

  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1 c. light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
  • 1 c. dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 large pkg. chopped dates
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 can Baker's flaked coconut
  • 4 c. Rice Krispies

Directions

    Add brown sugars to melted margarine; stir until dissolved. Add the dates and 1 1/2 tablespoons water to sugar, margarine and date mixture.

    Cook for 6 minutes, stirring all the time.

    Take off stove; add coconut, pecans and vanilla.

    Let cool until you can handle it.

    Add Rice Krispies.

    Mix well and roll in small balls.

    Drop in a plastic bag with 1/2 cup confectioners sugar. Lay them on foil until cool.

    Store in plastic bowl until ready to serve.

    (Very good to serve at Christmas.)
