Pecan-Cinnamon Buns

Ingredients

  • 6 c. bread flour
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 c. warm water, plus add several Tbsp. water
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 12 Tbsp. Karo
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. pecans, chopped
  • cinnamon
  • margarine

Directions

    Mix 2 packages yeast in 1 cup warm water with 1 teaspoon sugar.

    Let sit for 5 minutes.

    Mix flour, sugar and salt in large mixing bowl.

    Put shortening in and add egg.

    Add 1 cup milk to yeast mixture and pour into flour mixture.

    Knead dough and let it rise for an hour.

    Knead down and cover for second hour.

    Separate dough in 3 pieces.

    Roll out about 18-inches long and 9-inches wide.

    Spread with margarine.

    Sprinkle generously with cinnamon and brown sugar.

    Roll longwise and cut into 1-inch slices.

    Bake 25 minutes in preheated oven at 350°.
