- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped pecans
- 1 c. coconut
Directions

1Cream butter with 1/2 cup brown sugar.

2Add 1 cup sifted flour gradually and mix until smooth.

3Press and flatten to cover the bottom of an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.

4Bake at 350° for 10 minutes.

5Beat eggs until light and fluffy.

6Add 1 cup brown sugar, vanilla, baking powder, 2 tablespoons flour and salt.

7Stir in pecans and coconut.

8Spread over baked pastry and return to oven.

9Bake for 20 to 25 minutes longer or until topping is golden brown.

10Cool.
