  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1 stick margarine, softened
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 c. plain flour, sifted
  • 1 egg, separated
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    Mix butter, margarine, egg yolk, and vanilla.

    Add sugar and flour.

    Spread thin on large cookie sheet or two small ones (with sides).

    Beat egg white and spread over top.
  5. 5
    Then sprinkle with nuts.

    Bake at 275° for 45 minutes or until light golden brown. Cut into squares as soon as removed from oven.

    These get hard in a hurry.

    These can easily be stored in a plastic container for a long period of time.
