- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1 stick margarine, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 c. plain flour, sifted
- 1 egg, separated
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Mix butter, margarine, egg yolk, and vanilla.

2Add sugar and flour.

3Spread thin on large cookie sheet or two small ones (with sides).

4Beat egg white and spread over top.

5Then sprinkle with nuts.

6Bake at 275° for 45 minutes or until light golden brown. Cut into squares as soon as removed from oven.

7These get hard in a hurry.

8These can easily be stored in a plastic container for a long period of time.
