- 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Directions

1Cream the butter and shortening.

2Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.

3Add eggs; beat well.

4Combine flour, salt and soda.

5Add to creamed mixture; mix well.

6Add pecans.

7Drop by level tablespoon 2 inches apart onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.

8Cool slightly before removing from pan.
