  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped pecans

Directions

    Cream the butter and shortening.

    Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.

    Add eggs; beat well.

    Combine flour, salt and soda.

    Add to creamed mixture; mix well.

    Add pecans.

    Drop by level tablespoon 2 inches apart onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes.

    Cool slightly before removing from pan.
