Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 c. margarine or butter
  • 1 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 lb. whole pecans
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. (6 oz.) milk chocolate chips
  • 1 c. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening

Directions

    In a large saucepan, combine the first four ingredients.

    Cook over medium heat until sugar is dissolved.

    Gradually add milk and mix well.

    Continue cooking until candy thermometer reads 248° (firm ball stage).

    Remove from heat; stir in vanilla until blended.

    Fold in pecans.

    Drop by tablespoons onto a cookie sheet that has been sprayed with Pam.

    Chill until firm.

    Melt chocolate chips and shortening in microwave.

    Drizzle over each cluster. Cool.
