- 1/2 c. evaporated milk
- 1/2 c. white syrup
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 Tbsp. corn meal (optional)
- 1 c. brown or white sugar
- 1 c. pecans
- 1 unbaked pastry shell (9-inch)
Directions

1Beat evaporated milk, sugar and eggs well.

2Blend in salt, vanilla, corn meal and sugar.

3Stir in pecans; pour into pie shell.

4Bake in 375° oven for 10 minutes.

5Lower temperature to 350° and continue baking until knife inserted near the center comes out clean, about 35 minutes.
