  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1/2 c. white syrup
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp. corn meal (optional)
  • 1 c. brown or white sugar
  • 1 c. pecans
  • 1 unbaked pastry shell (9-inch)

Directions

    Beat evaporated milk, sugar and eggs well.

    Blend in salt, vanilla, corn meal and sugar.

    Stir in pecans; pour into pie shell.

    Bake in 375° oven for 10 minutes.

    Lower temperature to 350° and continue baking until knife inserted near the center comes out clean, about 35 minutes.
