  • 3 Tbsp. butter or oleo
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 c. pecans, chopped coarsely
  • 1 c. dark corn syrup
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. pecan halves
  • 1 unbaked pie shell

    Cream butter with vanilla.

    Add sugar, creaming well.

    Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.

    Beat in chopped pecans, syrup and salt.

    Turn into unbaked pie shell.

    Bake at 450° for 10 minutes.

    Reduce temperature to 350° and arrange pecan halves on top.

    Bake 30 to 35 minutes.

    Cool on wire rack.
