- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. dark corn syrup or light
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla (optional)
- 3 eggs
- 1 c. pecan halves
- 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
Directions

1Cream butter to soften. Add sugar gradually and cream until fluffy. Add syrup and salt; beat well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each.

2Stir in pecans.

3Pour into pie shell. Bake in moderate oven at 350° for 50 minutes.

4Pie is done when knife inserted comes out clean.

5This is a lighter pecan pie. If you want a richer pecan pie, use 1 cup sugar instead of 1/4 cup sugar.
