    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

    2. In a saucepan, melt butter, but do not brown.

    3. Mix in sugar and corn syrup until sugar dissolves.

    Remove pan from heat, place cold water in the sink, add a few ice cubes. Set saucepan in the cold water, careful to not get any water into the saucepan. Stir to cool the syrup.

    Stir a little syrup into the beaten eggs. This will temper the eggs so they will not cook once added to the syrup.

    4. Once you are sure the eggs will not cook, stir the eggs into the syrup in the pan. Mix well. Stir in the pecans.

    5. Pour into the pie shell and bake for 1 hour.
