  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. Karo syrup (dark or white)
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine, melted
  • 1 1/4 c. broken pecan pieces
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Combine the first 3 ingredients and mix together well. Press into ungreased 9 x 13 pan (mixture will be very thick). Bake at 300° for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool. Turn oven to 350°. Mix together the remaining ingredients and pour over the crust. Return to the oven and bake for 35 minutes. Let cool and cut into squares.
