- 1 c. pecans (or other nuts)
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 c. confectioners' sugar
- 2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions

1Chop nuts rather coarsely and set aside.

2Work or cream butter or margarine and shortening together until smooth.

3Then beat in confectioners' sugar gradually.

4Stir in flour thoroughly and add vanilla extract and nuts.

5Mix well and drop by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.

6Bake at 325° for 15 to 20 minutes or until a delicate light brown.
