Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter Crisco
  • 1 c. vegetable oil
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 5 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. pecans, finely chopped (can also use walnuts)

Directions

    Preheat oven to 375°.

    Cream Crisco with sugar.

    Add vanilla, eggs and oil.

    Beat well.

    Add dry ingredients and nuts, beating well.

    Roll into small balls.

    Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.

    With a fork dipped in sugar, press tops of cookies.

    Bake at 375° for 12 minutes.

    Place on rack to cool.
