Ingredients

  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1/2 c. butter, softened
  • 1 c. sifted flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 c. chopped pecans
  • dash of salt

Directions

    Beat cream cheese, butter and flour with electric mixer.

    Chill 1 hour.

    Roll into walnut-sized balls and press into ungreased tart pans.

    In small bowl, mix egg, butter, vanilla, brown sugar, pecans and salt.

    Drop into pastry cups.

    Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.

    Makes 24 tarts.
