- 3 oz. cream cheese
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1 egg
- 3/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. softened butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2/3 c. broken pecans
Directions

1Let one 3 ounce package cream cheese and 1/2 cup butter soften; blend together.

2Stir in 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour.

3Chill 1 hour.

4Shape in 2 dozen 1-inch balls.

5Place in ungreased 1 3/4-inch muffin pans.

6Press dough against bottom and sides.

7Beat together egg, brown sugar, butter, vanilla and salt just until smooth.

8Divide 1/3 cup coarsely broken pecans among tarts.

9Add egg mixture.

10Top with 1/3 cup coarsely broken pecans.

11Bake at 325° for 25 minutes or until filling is set.

12Cool.

13Remove from pans.

14Makes 2 dozen.
