- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1 beaten egg
- 2 Tbsp. dark Karo syrup
- 3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. soda
- 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 2 tsp. ginger ginger
- 1 tsp. ground cardamom
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar.

2Add eggs and syrup and mix together well.

3Gradually add sifted dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Chill.

4Roll very thin.

5Make sure you have the rolling pin and area floured.

6Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10 to 15 minutes at 375°.

7Cut cookies with a heart shaped cutter.
