- 3 c. brown sugar
- 1 1/2 c. Crisco
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1 c. hot water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 7 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. anise oil
- 1 c. nuts
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions

1Mix sugars and shortening.

2Add eggs and hot water.

3Mix all dry ingredients together; gradually stir into mixture.

4Bake at 375°.

5Use smallest measuring spoon and roll into a ball.
