Ingredients

  • 1 qt. vinegar
  • 3 qt. water
  • 2 to 3 pieces garlic
  • 2 to 3 small pieces hot pepper
  • 1 c. canning salt
  • 1 tsp. alum
  • dill
  • 10 lb. cucumbers

Directions

    Bring to boil vinegar, water, salt and alum.

    After boiling, keep hot when pouring.

    Have garlic, dill and pepper with cucumbers packed tightly in jars.

    Pour hot mixture over top. Seal and put in water bath 10 to 15 minutes, then let cool.
