Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 lb. chuck roast, cut in cubes
  • 4 medium onions
  • flour
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 2 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. caraway seed
  • 1 large can mushrooms
  • 6 oz. can tomato paste
  • 2 cans beef broth
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 tsp. marjoram
  • 1/2 can sweet pepper flakes
  • dash of chili powder

Directions

    Brown meat in vegetable oil.

    Add sliced onions, cooking until they begin to soften.

    Sprinkle enough flour on meat to coat when mixed.

    Add all of remaining ingredients except mushrooms.

    Simmer 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender and pepper flakes have completely softened.

    Add mushrooms 1/2 hour before serving.
