  • 1 1/2 lb. sirloin steak, cut into strips
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 c. beef broth
  • 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced, or 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 2 green peppers, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 c. cold water
  • 1 c. stewed tomatoes
  • 1 box mushrooms or 1 small can
  • 3 to 4 c. rice

    Brown meat.

    Add onions; stir until golden brown.

    Add broth, soy sauce and garlic.

    Cover; cook for 10 minutes, or until meat is tender.

    Add green peppers.

    Re-cover; simmer for 5 minutes. Blend cornstarch and water; stir into meat mixture.

    Stir until thickens or boils.

    Add tomatoes; heat.

    Serve over rice.
