- 1 lb. round steak, cut into strips
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 c. diced celery
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 c. water
- 1 beef bouillon cube
- 1 green pepper, cut into strips
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch, mixed with 1/2 c. water until smooth
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
Directions

1Brown steak, onion and celery in 2 tablespoons hot fat.

2Add pepper, sugar, water and bouillon cube.

3Cover and reduce heat. Simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

4Add green pepper and simmer 5 to 10 minutes more.

5Add cornstarch.

6Serve over rice or Chinese noodles.

7Add more water if desired.
