Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 c. catsup
- 3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 1/2 c. finely chopped onion
- 1 lb. round steak, cut into small pieces
- 1 pkg. fresh mushrooms
- 2 large green peppers, cut into rings
- 2 medium onions, cut into rings
- rice
Directions

1Brown meat in shortening; remove.

2Blend flour into shortening from which meat was removed. Add catsup, water, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, garlic and chopped onion. Bring to a boil.

3Lower heat to simmer for 20 minutes. Drop meat into sauce and cook only until tender.

4(This much can be done 2 or 3 days before serving and stored in refrigerator.).

5Ten minutes before serving, add fresh vegetables. Cook until crisply tender, about 10 minutes. Serve on hot fluffy rice. Serves 6.
