- 1 1/2 lb. sirloin steak, cut into 2-inch strips
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 envelope Lipton onion soup mix
- 2 c. water
- 1 or 2 green bell peppers, cut into strips
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 c. water
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1In large skillet, heat shortening and brown meat, turning frequently.

2Stir in the soup mix and 2 cups water.

3Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

4Stir in pepper and simmer for 10 minutes.

5Blend cornstarch with 1/2 cup water and add to skillet mixture.

6Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
