- 1 14 cups peppermint candies, crushed (use up those Candy Canes!)
- 1 13 cups granulated sugar, divided
- 2 12 cups all-purpose flour
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 34 cup butter
- 2 eggs
- 34 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2Grind or crush the peppermint candies in 1/3 cup of the sugar until powdery (a few tiny pieces are okay).

3Mix flour and salt together in a small bowl and set aside.

4Mix the butter, eggs and remaining sugar together in a large bowl.

5Add in vanilla and peppermint extracts.

6Add the flour mixture 1/3 at a time to the butter mixture.

7Form the dough into small balls, about an inch wide.

8Roll the balls of dough in the crushed candy mixture and place on an ungreased baking sheet.

9Bake for 8 minutes.

10Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for one minute, remove and roll them in the candy sugar again.

11Cool on wax paper.
