  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 6 c. tart cooking apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 (9-inch) pie crusts (uncooked)

Directions

    Preheat oven to 425°.

    In small bowl, mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.

    In large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice; let stand 5 minutes.

    Add sugar mixture to apple slices. Pour apple mixture into pastry-lined pie dish.

    Cover with top pastry and crimp edges together.

    Vent top.

    Bake 45 minutes or until top is golden.
