- 1 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 6 c. tart cooking apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 (9-inch) pie crusts (uncooked)
Directions

1Preheat oven to 425°.

2In small bowl, mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.

3In large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice; let stand 5 minutes.

4Add sugar mixture to apple slices. Pour apple mixture into pastry-lined pie dish.

5Cover with top pastry and crimp edges together.

6Vent top.

7Bake 45 minutes or until top is golden.

8Makes 6 to 8 servings.
